DofE Expeditions

DofEKirklees DofE has over thirty years experience of running activity and expedition packages for young people. Our staff and volunteersare highly qualified in outdoor education and deliver expedition packages to young people of all ages, abilities and cultures on a weekly basis.

DofeExpLittle Deer Wood and Kirklees DofE are an AAP to the DofE so we are able to take groups and individuals from any area.

There are two expedition packages that we can offer which help participants complete this exciting section of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Firstly, there is the full open program including training, practise expedition and qualifying expedition, though you can elect to do just the training or the training and practise if you prefer.

Secondly, if you have completed the expedition training but need to complete a practise or qualifying expedition you could take part in one of our open award expeditions. People sometimes have to drop out their original expedition teams due to injury, illness, family pressures etc. If you have participants who are trained and need to join with others to complete an expedition then this could be what you need.

DofeExpGroups usually come along to Little Deer Wood, our well equipped activity centre in Mirfield for training. We will however run bespoke training packages for groups at a time and venue to suit.

We also run Canoe and Cycling Expeditions but these require a lot more training.
